Lettter from Duke Energy:

July 28, 2009
Dear Property Owner,

Duke Energy Ohio (DEO) will be working along Rolling Wood Way, Highfield Court, Pineneedle Circle, Creekwood Circle, Evergreen Court, Partridge Circle, Whitetail Circle, Dogwood Court, Millstone Circle, Fawn Court, Greenwillow Circle, Haystack Way, Plowshare Way, Seedling Way, Ravenwood Way, Finchnest Way, Timbeljack Way, and Red Pheasant Way in your area for several weeks, starting the third or fourth week in August, 2009, to replace deteriorating underground cables, and some taps back to individual transformers. This project will help to improve system reliability and electric service to your community while helping to minimize power interruptions.

We will be installing new underground cables and replacing deteriorated sectionalizing modules as needed. These facilities will be installed in the existing Utility Easements granted to the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company (CG&E), which are on file at the Butler County Recorder's Office. The new cables will be installed immediately adjacent to the existing cable. We will utilize directional boring equipment when conditions permit, to minimize the amount of open trenching required. However, conventional excavating practices will be performed as necessary.

Completion of this project will require connecting the new underground cables to the existing
transformers and service pedestals. This will cause the need for periodic scheduled outages. We will provide the residents with notices indicating the day, time and approximate duration of the outages prior to their occurrence.

DEO will utilize the services of the local "Call Before You Dig" agency, as required by law, to locate all existing utilities in the area. However, the location of privately owned underground facilities, such as pet-containment systems, sprinkler systems, decorative yard lighting, etc. must be identified by the homeowner. In addition, it may be necessary to remove some decorative landscaping, which might encroach into the Utility Easement; restoration of these areas will be the owner's responsibility.

All grassy areas affected by the utility construction will be restored using topsoil, seed, and straw. Fiberglass netting, to hold the straw in place, will be used as needed. Any concrete or blacktop removed or damaged will be replaced in kind. Oftentimes, weather conditions will have adverse effect upon scheduling restoration work. Every effort will be made to restore the affected areas in a timely manner.

DEO will work diligently to accomplish this task in the most efficient manner possible. We hope our work will cause you a minimum of inconvenience. We appreciate your patience during these construction activities. For questions or concerns, you may contact me at 513-287-1763. To report any outages or emergencies, please ca11 513-421-9500.
