During the last month and a half, the West Chester Police Department has taken reports for five burglaries and two attempt burglaries throughout the Township. Areas affected by these crimes include the Ashford Glenn, Beckett Ridge, Villages of Providence and Devonshire subdivisions. Areas in Liberty Township have also been affected.
The suspects involved in these crimes are stealing jewelry and expensive electronics to include computers and televisions. The suspects are possibly driving a white cargo or passenger van. The burglaries are occurring between the hours of 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
Residents are strongly encouraged to keep their doors and windows locked. Leave interior and exterior lights on. Make sure your burglar alarm is operational. Vehicles should be locked at all times and valuables should be removed. If you leave to go on vacation, you can contact the West Chester Police Department Public Affairs Unit at 759-7280. Police will check on your home while you are away.
