ROAD CONSTRUCTION SEASON BEGINS
Beckett Road project largest in the community

The start of summer brings the start of summer road projects throughout Butler County. West Chester Township works closely with the Butler County Engineer's Office to address the infrastructure needs of the West Chester community.

The largest road improvement project taking place this summer in West Chester is on Beckett Road between Union Centre Boulevard and Smith Road. Crews will work to ease the curve near the entrance to Beckett Park, add turn lanes at the park, replace a culvert and add a bike path. The cost of the project is nearly $1.4 million and is funded through the TIF District.

Construction crews mobilized on May 26 and the project is expected to be complete by October 1. There will be road closures as part of this project. Closures will be in effect from June 15 through August 15 and will be implemented in phases. Throughout the project, local access will be maintained to residents and businesses, although access will be limited to one side of the main closure area depending upon one's location relative to the phasing and work being performed. Detours will be posted for all thru traffic.

The phasing of closures will be as follows:

PHASE 1 - Starting June 15, Beckett Road will be closed between Prairie Lake Boulevard and Beckett Ridge Boulevard. Access to Prairie Lake Boulevard will be from the south side only (Union Centre Boulevard). Access to Beckett Ridge Boulevard will be from the Smith Road side only.

PHASE 2 - Beckett Road will be closed between Beckett Ridge Boulevard and Smith Road. Access to Beckett Ridge Boulevard and points south will be from Union Centre Boulevard only.

PHASE 3 - Beckett Road will be closed between Prairie Lake Boulevard and Union Centre Boulevard. Access to Prairie Lake Boulevard and points north will be from Smith Road side only.

The Detour for all phases is: Northbound Beckett Road traffic will detour west on Union Centre Boulevard, north on Ohio 747, and east on Smith Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.

• Crescentville Road at Ohio 747 - Intersection improvement, additional turn lane.
• Hamilton-Mason Road , Cincinnati-Dayton to I-75 - Widen to 5 lanes
• I-75, Cincinnati-Dayton Road to Middletown limits - Widen to 4 lanes each direction and upgrade interchanges
• Ohio 747 at Devitt Drive and Interstate Drive - Install signals and construct connector road between deadends at Devitt and Interstate.
• Port Union Road near LeSaint Drive - Westbound lane addition
• Tylersville Road - Culvert replacement
• Union Centre Blvd., West Chester Road to Muhlhauser - Add lane in each direction
• Union Centre Blvd. at Imagination Blvd. - Install new signals at intersection
